Word vs. Excel Tables

My co-workers, mathematical, bigheaded types, insist I
should not use Word's tables in word documents; instead
they say I should import Excel spreadsheets. They say
Word tables are weak and people who use them are
likewise. I've taken a lot of grief at work on this
issue. What should my response be?

Well, it depends on what you're trying to do with the tables. Obviously,
Word's table are fine for text. If you're trying to do calculations, an
embedded Excel sheet would probably work better.
