Word Wants CD

A client's copy of Word XP recently started asking for the installation CD
so it could install a new feature. If she cancels, she can use Wrod just
fine. But it annoying to click through.

Unfortunately she purchased the computer used and did not get the
installation CDs. And I do not have the specific version of Office XP that
was used.

Does anyone know of a registry hack that will kill this?

You should advise the client to request the seller to provide her with
the Installation CD's and approriate documentation for that software.

It appears that whoever installed XP Word on that computer
did not do a "Custom" install, installing all features.
This means that everytime she tries to do something that
was not installed, that message will pop up. The only way
to get rid of the message is to get the CD, either from
the person she purchased the computer from, or to go out
and purchase a copy of the CD, then install everything, or
just have it available when that message pops up.

Another way is to buy the legal boxed version...
If you get a boxed version Standard/Pro version, then you can have it on
a laptop too.

And another way to evade this is to download OpenOffice from
http://www.openoffice.org . Remember that there will be some learning
curves to endure.
