word wants to configure before it opens

I am having the same problem. Word, Excel and Outlook are the programs I use
the most. I have the Office Enterprise 2007 suite. I upgraded from Office
2003 basic. I can cancel out of the configuration and still load the programs
but it gives me error messages in Word and Excel. Any help is appreciated

I have just bought a new pc withOffice basic 2007 installed. It keeps saying
'please wait whilc windows configures Micorsoft Office basic 2007' every time
I open word or excel or any other files.
Dell refuse to help at all. I have unistalled and re-installed and it still
happens.
