I have started deploying Office 2003 Professional and one user noted that all
of his Word2000 generated files with Excel2000 tables/charts imported throws
error when trying to open. The exact error message is "Word was unable to
read the document. It may be corrupt....try to recover." This file is in
fact not corrupt as I can open it on a Office 2000 Professional based
station.

To correct this problem:

Open MS Word
Got File
Locate/highlight file
Rather than selecting Open, hit the pull down and select open and repair.

Works fine. But, all of our Sales *.doc files are generated in the same
fashion. IS there any means to run a batch type file to "open and repair"
all of them? Or any other solution? As this would be quite the time
consuming task to have a user sit there and open and repair them all. FYI,
these files are sharded on the Network, so if another user happens to open
said files, they will not know how to "open and repair" them....hence the
batch style "open and repair" solution...

Thoughts? MS should have a hotfix for this btw!

Thank You
