Word will not close old Document. Comes up everytime Word is launc

I created a document a month ago, printed it but did not save it. I closed
Word, and that was the end of it. The next time I opened up Word, the
document reappeared. The doc appears everytime I open up Word instead of a
blank doc and I cannot get rid of it or find it or delete it. I have tried
the following:

- renaming the file, and then trying deleting it.
- deleting the file
- erasing the contents of the document, typing something new and saving it.
- searching for the document on my system (which is no where to be found)
and deleting it that way.

I never named the document, but when I do a Save AS, the name in the doc
title is 3. That happens to be the first character in the doc. So it has
auto-saved the document but will now not erase or delete the doc. All I want
is to have a blank doc be there when I open up Word and delete this unwanted
doc.
HELP!!! Thanks!
