Word will not load. Problems saving documents

My Microsoft Works Suite 2000 will no longer load and
run. Prior to that problem it became unstable and would
not save even small documents. I would get an error
message that said that there was not enough memory to save
the docuemnt. The program would then offer to save the
document as a rescuded document.

I have tried to download some sort of fix from the
internet but have been unable to fiz the problem.

HELP!
