Word will not open

Good day everyone! I am operating Microsoft Office X on my Mac G4 OS
10.3.5. I can no longer open Word, when I attempt to open it, I get an
error message that Word has unexpectedly quit. It crashes on an
attempt to open it.

I have tried re-installing just Word and the complete Offfice package
to no avail. I have also tried finding an updated version, but the
copy I have is the latest version available.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi

Maybe this will help. In Excel -and presumably in Word - there's a template
that Excel opens up when you start it. All your customistaions go here.
Sometimes, it becomes corrupt and can safely be deleted. This is what I
found elsewhere, it may apply to Word as well.

"Do you have a workbook named "Workbook" in your Microsoft Office
X:Office:Startup:Excel folder? If so, that's acting as a template for
your new workbooks. You can delete that file, or save a new template
with that name in that folder."
