Word will not open

I am trying to start Word but I keep getting the message:
"Winword has caused an error in WINWORD.EXE. winword will
now close" And some message about restarting my computer
if the problem persists. I have re-installed Microsoft
office, several times, even after un-installing office.
What can I do?
