word will not regocnize my default printer, says I have no defaul.

I had a computer hard drive crash, last weekend, I installed my printer after
the new hard drive was installed, and went to use it today for work that I do
on in word spreadsheets, and I tried to print, but it pops up saying I have
no default printer, and will not print, I can print from 3 other programs,
but nothing from any works program, I have unistalled and reinstalled the
printer and all programs. I have updated word still no printing available, I
have only the one printer and it is the default, as the check beside the
printer in the control panel tells me it is the default.

Bob, I don't have that option in word, under file I have listed: New, Open,
Close, Save and Save as, page setup, print area, print preview, and print, as
well as send and exit. hitting print, starts the printing process. I did
nothing to get it to print before, that I just did and for some strange
reason it is now printing! LOL, such is life. Glad it works now, wished it
did earlier!

If you have Print... on the File menu, then you should get to the File |
Print dialog (or you can use Ctrl+P). In that dialog, what printer is
selected?

If Ctrl+P or File | Print is just printing instead of opening the Print
dialog, then the command and/or shortcut have been reassigned to
FilePrintDefault (same as the Print button on the Standard toolbar) and need
to be reset.
