Word will not save a document

I havde opened a Word document ofr editing, and want to close it, saving the
changes, and suddenly Wod tells me that it can't save a document with trhe
same name as an open document.

99 timesn out of 100 it will save the open document with no problems, but the
hundredth time it refuses do do so?

What do I do, save it under another name, delete the old document, then rename
the new document to the original name?

Is there any easier way of doing this?

The error message you mentioned could be caused by a left-over owner file
(sometimes referred to as a "lock" file). Exiting Word and deleting temporary
