Word will not save

After clicking the save or saveas button nothing happens. I close the
application, it asks me if I want to save the docuement. When I answer yes,
the system returns me to document, without saving. This happens regardless of
whether the document is a new or existing document. The product is word 2000
and the operating system is Windows 2000. The event log contains an entry
regarding the automatic cetificate enrollment subsystme could not access
local resources needed for enrollement. Enrollment will not be performed.
Access Denied.

I'm having the same exact problem. Mine started when I was working on a
document on my work server from home thru a broadband (Comcast) connection.
Somewhere along the way, the connection was disabled while I was modifying
the document. I checked the Knowledge Base and the only thing I could find
referenced permissions and FAT vs. NTFS structures . . . . Great! :-(

Try replacing your "normal.dot" template with either a backup copy, or one
off of an install disk. I uninstalled Word, reinstalled it, repaired it,
etc. and nothing worked . . . . until I copied an old "normal.dot" that I had
