Word will not Start Up

I have a valid Microsoft Office 2000. And my Word application will no longer
Start-Up. I have uninstalled it and re-installed it, I have repaired it and
none of this has changed its behavior. It pops up the blue Winword small
screen and freezes there.

Will Microsoft provide me a new copy of Word upon prooof of my Product Key?
If so how does one go about doing this?

Or if anyone has ideas beyond what I have tried it would be most appreciated.
