Word will not Start

My Office Word will not start. All other Office Apps do. All updates are done
How do I correct?

How about some details?

What are the exact version numbers of Office & OS X? Have you repaired disk
permissions recently? Have you tried shutting down your Mac for a few
minutes & seeing what happens when you power up again?

How are you attempting to launch Word? Double-clicking a document icon, the
application icon, using the Dock icon? Exactly what happens in each case?

Is 2008 an upgrade from a prior version or is it a full installation? Do you
still have any prior versions installed? If so which ones, if not how did
you remove it?
