Word will not start

J

John

Hello,
Earlier today, I opened a document in Word, just as I have
done countless times in the past. I then attempted to
open a file which was probably a text file, but not a WORD
file. The WORD "intro" came up, but wouldn't go beyond
that. The cursor kept "flashing" with the icon I chose
for it to be while the computer is thinking. When I tried
to CNTRL-ALT-DLT, I received a white screen telling me
that I don't have enough resources to run the file. I
could only exit by a hard-reset. If I try to start WORDor
and WORD document, I keep getting the white screen asking
me if I wish to quit the prsent application or continue.
However, I lose functionality of the computer beyond this
point.

I downloaded the new virus definitions today, and it
didn't find any.

PLEASE HELP. I reinstalled WORD and the same thing occurs.

HELP!!!

SINCERELY,
John

Hi John,

I read your post in the Microsoft newsgroup and I am
having the exact same problem you are having. And I
noticed that no one responded to you question. I just want
to find out if you have solved your problem. If so, that's
great! And maybe you wouldn't mind giving me some help.
Thank you so much for your time

Clem
