Word will only open in Safe Mode

When I try to open Word, I get a message saying that that is has encountered
a problem and needs to close. The only way I can get it to open is in Safe
Mode. I have tried every fix I can find out on the internet. I have
deleted printers, added printers, deleted templates, etc. Has ANYONE had
any success in getting this fixed?

One user noted that he thought it started after he installed Adobe Acrobat
8. I do have that software installed on this machine, but I also have it
installed on about 200 more with not issues.

From the list of what you've tried, it doesn't sound like you've tried the
three most common solutions:

1. Rename or delete Normal.dot (Normal.dotm, if Word 2007)

2. Rename or delete the Data key in the registry

3. Turn off add-ins.
