Hello,
I have a friend who is having a severe problem with Office 2000 (more
specifically Word) working with Windows 98. Office 2000 has worked perfectly
on his machine for a number of years now but, all of a sudden, word stopped
working. Every time he opened Word, he got messages saying that the system
was dangerously low on resources. the computer then froze &, on occasion
geve a couple of BSODs with messages like: Fatal Exception at 0187:
BFF9DFFF & then
17C7:0000081.
Needless to say this is rather frustrating. The computer has no other
ailments - even when all other memory-using processes are running, the
computer gives this message when Word starts. Neither does uninstalling and
reinstalling office change the situation.
Could anybody tell me why this might be & suggest a possible remedy?
Yours sincerely,
Sam Goddard
