Word wiped out Works templates

Hi,
I recently bought a computer with windows XP and Works
7.0 on it. A 'friend' tried to install Word on my
computer but that didn't work properly, so I deleted all
Word programmes. Unfortunaly now there are no templates
for the Works word processor, and it is no longer listed
under 'Tasks', only as an icon in 'Home'. Works came
already insalled on my computer and the only disc I have
it on is an emergency backup with re insalls everything.
I really don't want to wipe everything on my computer
just to get the templates back, if anyone knows how I can
get them back without resorting to this I would be very
grateful for the help!

You must not delete applications. You should use the Add/Remove programs in
the Control Panel and uninstall correctly. Deleting will leave files all
over the place but worse is that the registry will be a complete mess and
won't know what is or isn't on the computer. I recommend that you backup
your users files, export your email and accounts and then restore
completely. It is extremely unlikely you will ever get the registry sorted
otherwise.
