Word won't attach photos

S

sjr

Using Outlook for email, trying to attach photos or screenshots...
Word goes into "not responding" and will not attach, and can't be closed
using "Office recovery to close." The only way to close Word is to do
"cntrl/alt/del" and that brings up Task Manager, wich shows that Outlook is
ok, Word is not responding.

I tired "detect and repair" on both Word and Outlook.. no change, Word still
goes to "not responding."

Sequence... I click...
attach (in new Outlook mail window)
my pictures
open (trying to open my pictures)
and nothing happens, Word is not responding

HELP please. Problem just started this morning.

Try changing the setting in outlook so that it does not use Word to edit
email.

You may want to look at: You may experience problems in Windows Explorer or
in the Windows shell after you install security update MS06-015
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=918165

If you aren't comfortable with editing the Windows registry yourself, then
go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down to Item
No. 383 "Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software - Fix". Download and run
the script to automatically modify your registry as described in KB918165.
You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus program in order to run
the script.

A revised version of the update is supposed to be released on Tuesday, April
25, to fix these problems.

Good one Charles.
I removed that dirty little update, but had already uninstalled and
reinstalled word with the predictable lack of success AND NOW I get a message
when I try to type in Word 2002 that "Microsoft Word has not been installed
for the current user. Please run setup to install the application."

My best guess is that I have Word reinstalled after uninstalling it, because
I can open a document in my file but when I hit the mouse to move the cursor
to type the above message comes up.
Tried the restore, too. nada

Thanks, robj, Branson, Mo
