word won't auto-capitalize 'I'

according to the knowledge base it is supposed to. and it used to, but
something's happened. any suggestions?

my other auto-capitalization (of first words of sentences, for example) is
still working. it's just the i that is not, and there is no check-box on it
in the auto-correct/format options. (i am using word 2007).

thanks!

Note that AutoCorrect is language-specific. Make sure the correct language
is applied to text.

it actually works in some documents, i found out today, and not others. old
documents and not new ones, it seems.

they are all in english and i believe the correct language is being used.
however, i do not see the 'set language' tab in my word options that i have
seen referred to in a few other threads about capitalization.

any further suggestions? thanks.

Language settings are available from the Review tab; click Set Language.
Note that the language can be set for selected text.

Also, in the Language dialog box, make sure to clear the "Detect language
automatically" option.

i don't have a language dialog box when i am in the 'review' tab. all i see
is proofing, comments, tracking, changes, compare and protect. can you tell
me where to find 'set language' on here as well as a language dialog box?

thanks again!
