Word won't open a file from Explorer

Bob

I have Word 2000 Professional. Whenever I try to open a document from
Windows Explorer, the document appears, but there is a flashing button
and a mesage asking me "Do I want to revert to the 'saved' document. I
must answer either yes or no before I can use the file. It doesn't
seem to make any difference what my answer is as long as I check "yes"
or "no". Is there any way to turn this "feature" off?? Thanks.

That's a normal indication. It means that the file you attempted to open is
already opened by you, and has been changed.

If you do not think it is open, or you have not changed it, then you
probably have a virus and should check your system carefully.

If no virus is found, then re-name your Normal Template and try again.

Hope this helps
