Word wont save my documents

That's it. I create a document, but cannot save it. When
I click FILE/SAVE AS ... there is no dialog box asking me
what to call the file, or where to save it. When I click
FILE/SAVE, or the SAVE icon, or CTRL+S . it does not
save. Even when I click CLOSE, it asks me to name the
file, but not only does it NOT save it.... it doesn't
close either. The only way I can close is to choose
cancel. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and made sure I
am up to date with the updates. What's wrong with my
Word ??? :(
