Word won't start - can't open *.PIP file

J

I've been running Ofice XP succesfully for a couple of
years. I just bought a new computer and loaded XP on it.

When I try and open WORD I get a message "can't open .PIP
file"

What in the world is this.

TIA
Jerry

The .PIP file stores the condition of your personalized menus and toolbars.

Thanks, Suzanne. My question - what program do I need to
open the *.PIP files?? and.. Where do I get it.

TIA,
Jerry

I think this file is used internally by Word. I don't think you can open it.
If you delete it, a new one will be created.
