i don't think it was any of those fonts, so maybe it was not part of office
but a font included with the system (i had jaguar).

do you know if is there anyway to see a list of the fonts included with
jaguar/panther in the apple site?

thanks, mjc

And you forgot Library:Fonts (the "local", i.e. computer-wide but not
System-owned) folder as well. I seem to have 86 fonts in there myself.

Here are my 86 in Library:Fonts. They seem to be almost identical to what
J.E. claimed for System:Library. So maybe that's where he got them. See
further below for what's in my System:Library:Fonts.

Actually I forgot System:Library. The "System Library:Fonts" folder I
meant was the volume Library:Fonts folder.

My System:Library fonts folder has these fonts. Since I don't remember
adding any, I suspect they came with Panther, but I might be wrong.Apple

Hmmm. I guess you must be using a limited sort of news reader, J.E.? <g>

(He means these:

Oops. Never mind. Apologies to J.E. and his newsreader. The news server
can't handle them They were all Chinese, Japanese and/or Korean font names
now built into Panther.

Touche. <g>

Actually, the newsreader isn't limited - I've just got it set to
normally send plain text without any special encoding, to conform with
longstanding newsgroup etiquette. But I *can* send in, say UTF-8 as I'm
doing now.

Since the OP said that 'the "o" was elongated as an oval and the
small "d" looked like D', I figured the exact characters of those fonts
were probably irrelevant.

Hmm... I think the news server handles them fine. I saw the
Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters in your original post.

It can't? Worked fine for me in Entourage :)

the font i was looking for us call frutiger. is front is not available in
windows, is there any way to conver it?

thanks, mjc

John McGhie [MVP - Word]

Frutiger *is* available in Windows, but it is not free: you have to buy it
from Adobe.

The only exact match is Humanist 777. Futura might be quite close :)
