Word X, formatting problem with URL

I have Office V.X for Macintosh.

Problem: when I type in a URL, Word turns the letters to blue and
underlines the URL. I can't seem to find how to turn this very damn
annoying "feature" of Word off. When I search Word help for URL, the
damn thing tells me what a URL is, but not how to change the
formatting.



Second problem:

I am trying to print to blank Avery business cards. How can I see the
boxes so I know where to type/format, but not have the edges of the
boxes printed?

Tools | AutoCorrect, AutoFormat As You Type, the specific setting annoying
you is "internet paths with hyperlinks." uncheck it. You'll probably be
just as happy if you uncheck everything in that pane, especially if you
don't know what it means, and all 4 panes of the dialog should be explored,
just as you would explore the preferences dialog to see what you wanted on
and off.

Assuming you created the labels via Tools | Labels, which creates a table of
the right sizes, Table | Gridlines with turn the gray outlines on and off.

Tools | AutoCorrect, AutoFormat As You Type, the specific setting annoying
you is "internet paths with hyperlinks." uncheck it. You'll probably be
just as happy if you uncheck everything in that pane, especially if you

just as you would explore the preferences dialog to see what you wanted on

If you want to correct previous examples, or if you receive text from others
after you apply the fix suggested by Daiya, you can get rid of the
hyperlinks by dragging over the URL (start outside it and drag inwards or
Shift-arrow) and keying Command-spacebar. This will also remove the
unsightly underlining.

If you want to simply remove the underline for aesthetic reasons but retain
the blue colour (or impose another), you should change the definition for
the default style "Hyperlink": choose Format menu -> Style -> from "List"
below the scroll box choose "All styles" from the pop-down menu -> Hyperlink
-> Modify -> Font -> apply the formatting you want. You will probably also
want to change the format of the style for followed hyperlinks at the same
time. I usually return the settings to "Styles in use" after these actions.
