Word X, low resolution of printed pictures and in saved .ps files

I have problems with the very low resolution during printout of the high res.
jpegs I have pasted into my documents. It looks like Word is using a low res.
preview version of the pictures during prinout and when saving as .ps or
..pdf. On screen everything is quite sharp even at 500% zoom. The same
document print OK from a PC.
Any ideas how to improve?
Is Word 2004 better?

I have the same problem. JPEGs look great on the screen, but print at 92dpi
when the rest of the document prints at 1200. Have you found a solution?
Any help would be appreciated.
