word x (mac) misaligns envelope printing

i'm using word x (sr 1 with 1.0.6 upgrades) printing to an epson sc740.

i''m trying to print from & to addresses on #10 envelope, using the "tools"
menu, and by creating new envelope document. no matter what setting i use,
the printer prints as if printing on letter-size paper rather than envelope
-- alignment is only on the right edge of tray.

i''ve tried "custom page options" for #10 envelope, selecting the image all
the way to the right that shows right edge alignment, rotated clockwise. i
also tried changing margins of "tools."new envelope document displays perfect
layout for #10, but doesn't print properly.

nothing i do works properly.

i contacted epson and they say that i have the latest driver: they suggested
that i contact microsoft about word x.

bob: thanx for the link. i didn't post my message because, after i did a
seach for "word x envelope," i saw messages with the similar problem, on
different printer brands, dating back to early 2002!! one in particular, by
Kathy Stiffler, on Apr 30 2003, 2:31 pm is related to epson printers.

apparently most persons have traced the problem to office x updates, and
workaround it by reinstalling the original office x -- AND NEVER APPLYING
UPDATES!

would you support this workaround, given that there is much less security
problems with os x, than windows?

i can also try to create my own envelope template for the epson; but i have
to learn how to do that -- do you have any links to help me on this?

thanx.
