Word X Mac

In Word X for Mac when a files is saved it automatically saves as read
only.
I have been unable to find where to change this setting. Anyone able to
give
me a hand. It would be greatly appreciated.
These files are being saved on a hard drive and not a CD or CDRW.

Hi De,

Navigate to the file in the Finder and click once to select it. Now do a
Get Info (command> i). Make your desired change in the Ownership &
Permissions section of the dialog box.

Also try repairing Permissions on your Mac (you should do it after each
major install anyway). Launch DiskUtility, select your drive and click
on the Repair Permissions button.

Thank you Beth. I appreciate your response but, we have done this
repeatedly. But once the file is opened and resaved it reverts to read
only.
