Word X Quits unexpectedly

I use OS x 10.2.8. Recently Word v. X started quitting
whenever I perform certain operations like deleting a word
or phrase or dragging a word or phrase from one place to
another on the document. What can I do?

In addition to the tips listed there, check your Word Startup Folder
(Applications: Microsoft Office X: Office: Startup) and see whether you have
any add-ins there that may be conflicting with Word (Endnote is a common
culprit).

tried.
