I am trying to check the spelling and grammar of several word
documents that are written in french. I have just installed all of the
french dictionaries with the ValuePack Installer, gone into the spelling
and grammar prefs, and added the french dictionaries under custom
dictionaries. When I exit the spelling and grammar prefs, I get a popup
telling me that no dictionaries exist at the location I have designated,
and would I like to create a dictionary there. I am looking at the
dictionaries in the Shared Apps folder in Word in Applications, and they
do exist. When I close the fist popup, another comes up asking me if I
would like Word to create a dictionary there since one doesn't exist
(even though it does, I am looking at it). If I click yes, I am told that
Word cannot create a dictionary here. Can anyone suggest a solution?
There must be a way to check spelling and grammar of an international
document on Word that actually works. I am on an 11 month old IMac
running OS 10.2.8 and the Word version is Word:mac v. X
Please help!
thank you,
