Word X turn off appearing ruler

B

Brooks

Just upgraded to OS X and the X version of Word has this frustrating
behavior of making the horizontal ruler appear across the top of the
document anytime I move the cursor into that area. I've searched for
how to turn this off but am lost. The ruler itself is turned off (in
the View menu) but I want it to never appear even if I put my cursor
near where it would be.

Thanks. - Brooks
