Word XP (2002) Open file dialogue not showing WBK files

I have a client with Word XP installed. He is running Windows 2000. When we
use the Word Open File dialogue none of the backup copies (the WBK copies) of
the files appear. We have tried several different "Files of type:" settings
but they all show no WBK files.

When I look at the same directory in Windows Explorer the files exist.

Anybody have a clue what causes this behavior and more importantly how to
correct it?

The only "Files of type" setting that will show .wbk files is the "All
Files (*.*)" entry. That extension isn't included in any of the other
selections.

I'll try it again. Thanks for the advice.
