Word XP / Adobe question

Kristina

I am trying to insert an existing Adobe pdf file as an
object in Word XP but it shows up only as an icon. While
the doc is open, I can right click on it on the icon, go
to Acrobat Document Object, and edit it, which will then
open it, but my final goal is to have this object in the
doc so when someone opens it, all will print, including
the pdf.

Kristina,

as Bob mentioned, Word does not provide direct support for
importing/inserting PDF files. You can provide a link to
the document, which in turn opens an instance of Acrobat,
but you will not be able to directly print or view it
within Word. You can as Jeroen mentioned convert the PDF
to an image type file, but this will not allow you to edit
it. There are other conversion utilities available that
will enable you to convert the PDF file into editable
text, which is only required if you do not posess the
original file from which the PDF was created.

Good luck
