Word XP and in-document drawings

Hi folks --

I used the 'Draw' feature in Word XP to create a rather
intricate flow chart. After I saved the document and re-
opened it, however, the file is blank. It seems
corrupted somehow because changing normal/print layout
views does nothing, nor can I print it, etc.

Has this happened before? Is there anything I can do to
recover the document (the backup file is the same thing)?

More importantly, is this likely to happen if I use
WordXP to redo the document?
