Word Xp cause CPU to run at 100% if Fields are present

Hello all.

I have a problem with Word for windows XP on dell inspiron 4150. (1.7GHZ 1
GIG of RAM).

It seems to be fine if the word document doesn't have a "field" But if the
document has fields generated by "endnote" or "bibus" reference management
programs, it seem to cause the cpu to run at full speed. And eventually slows
the system down and overheat my laptop.

Is there any way to remedy this? What's causing this problem? Not having
fields from these programs(endnote, bibus) is not an option for me.

Any info is appreciated.

It suggests that the endnote/bibus add-ins are incompatible with your
version of Word. You need to uninstall the add-ins and then contact the
(add-in) vendors for support.

Hi Terry,

Thanks for the reply.

I just tried a little test. I opened a blank word document. Typed some
randome stuff. And inserted a random field and it didn't cause that problem.
Now if I copy and paste into a new document citationb from Bibus, the problem
starts. Here's what I pasted.

{ADDIN
BibusRef<Id>26</Id><Identifier>Ye2007</Identifier><BibliographicType>ARTICLE</BibliographicType><Author>Ye,

development</Title><Volume>19</Volume><Year>2007</Year><CitationRanges>;for
ranges</CitationRanges><DuplicateInfo></DuplicateInfo>}

What is it about that code or field text that can cause Word to burn CPU
time?

looks as if the forum software will not display the field codes I have copied
and pasted. I'm trying again with curly brackets removed.

I don't know. There's nothing obvious wrong so I would recommend taking this
up with Bibus as they are far more likely to have encountered/experienced
the problem.
