Word XP crashes when I open a file with text and picture

I have Windows and Office XP Home Edition original.
I created a last document with text and picture for 2 days ago and I had no
problems with Word XP then.
Today I can open and edit a file only with text. Word crashes when I try
open a file with text and picture. What can I do to repair this?
