Word XP Crashing without Notice.

Every time I start typing in Word XP, it inexplicably
closes (usually after pressing the spacebar). How can I
correct this?

Even though you are able to start Word see if any of the
troubleshooting steps in this article help you find the problem:

Start with starting Word with the /a switch first and then check for
global templates/add-ins in item 4.
