Yikes
I am writing a small / medium sized word document (12 pages, 100kb), with
charts brought in from Excel. However, after working on it for about an
hour, my computer grinds to a halt. The CPU usage goes through the roof.
Even on closing down Word (sometime I can close it, others I have to kill
the process), I do not regain control of the CPU. I have to restart my
computer each time.
I'm running OfficeXP SP3 for Students on WindowsXP Pro SP2, 256Mb 2Ghz, lots
of free HD space.
Any ideas as to what is causing the problem? Its not virus, spyware etc...,
as I'm running a Zonealarm, NortonAV and Adaware with the latest
definitions.
I've tried cutting out the document, and pasting it into a new document, but
to no avail. This probably suggests that its not the particular document
that is at fault, but something inherant in Word.
Thanks
