Word XP Hangs and Opening Document

Hello:

A manager is having problem opening a Word document with Track Changes. As
soon as he opens the document, Word freezes. I was able to open the document
without any problems.

I offered the following suggestions:

1) Lower security setting if there is any macros
2) Copy & paste into a new document
3) Run detect & Repair

Am I on the right track or do I need to try something else?

might work.
Note: Exclude the last paragraph mark from copying.
