Word XP Insert Address Button Sort by First Name

Amy Pasko

We use the Word XP Insert Address Button to insert an address from
Outlook 2002 Contacts folder. The contacts folder is sorted by last
name, first name. When we choose the Insert Address button, and
choose Contacts, it shows the names listed by first name and then last
name. Is there any way to default this to last name, first name as in
the Contracts folder?

Thanks.

This is a function of the address book in Outlook.
Unfortunately I don't have Outlook 2002 to hand, but in 2003, this is set
from the tools > e-mail accounts > directory > view or change existing
address books. Select the address book and 'change'. You can change the sort
order there.
In some earlier Word versions eg 2000, changing the sort order screwed the
contacts list so I tend not to mess with this setting.
