word xp won't insert photos

I recently upgraded my Symantec firewall and system works
to 2004 professional. Yet, when I wish to insert an image
into a word document, I can't. when I highlight the file,
it won't even come up in the file line. I have tried to
cut and paste it in manually. no luck.

I am having the same problem, I have Windows XP also and when I copy a logo from the web and paste it into a word document, all I get is a picture square when I click on it with no picture on the inside.
