Whenever I try to open a WORD document I get an dialogue
box that states, "The file (filename) is not available."

I cannot figure out or find out how to fix this. What do
I do at this point. Even when I try to open a document
from a floppy I get the same thing. Yet I can put the
floppy in another computer and open the WORD documents on
it.

Hi Leslie,

See the article "How to re-register Word when problems crop up opening
files. Word files do not open in the desired version of Word when you
double-click them in Windows Explorer, or when opening them from the Desktop
or Explorer, a series of messages appear claiming that the file cannot be
opened." at:

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
