After I print a document, the program sends a blank page
through the printer. Why? Or how do I eliminate the
blank page? If I want ten copies, I get ten printed and
ten blank. Doing both sides in quantity becomes a
headache.

First thing to check. If you open a new document how many pages are there.
(bottom of page, left side. If it is two, you may have screwed up the
normal template and will need to delete it. Word automatically makes a new
correct one when you delete one.

Another quick check: click on ¶ on the standard toolbar to see non-printing
characters. All grey ¶s are blank paragraphs that Word is printing as well,
since they have been typed into your document.
