First, your new computer probably came with its own (newer?) OS
pre-installed. Why whould you want to transfer the older one?
Second, it sounds as if you don't have Word on your computer and your
system is doing the best it can with what it has to work with. Does your new
computer have Word pre-installed on it? If not, you will need to either buy
Word or, depending on the version of Word that was on the old computer and
what your plans were with the old computer, you may be able to install Word
on your new computer with the disks that came with the old system.

new hard drive...The Operating System WOULD NOT transfer...So, I put the
files in a folder...NOW when I pull up old Word documents they get
