I have a word document that I created in Word 2003. I do not have problems
when I open up the document in Word 2007. I get all of the same functionality
as found in 2003, BUT when I open it in Word 2008 I am unable to check a
checkbox and have it display an x. It sometimes displays an empty square with
just a gray background or sometimes the actual box disappears changing the
formatting of the page. Is there a known issue or is there something enabled
in 2003 that is no longer enabled or available in 2008.
Thank You in advance

Yes. VBA. Word 2008 has no VBA interpreter.

If your checkbox has some VBA logic behind it, it won't work properly in
Word 2008.

Cheers
