How do I convert a word document to a .pdf file. I was
able to do that on my old computer but when I switched to
a new one, that option went away. I currently have
Office XP loaded.

Please advise.

Purchase Adobe Acrobat or another .pdf file generating program or if you
still own the old computer tranfer the program over to the new one.

There is no option to do this natively in any version of Office - you must
have had Acrobat, or one of the many shareware PDF creation applications,
installed.

I have X"P Office Pro which has an option "create PDF File" under the
file menu. Selecting it drops a submenu that says "Print with
PDFWriter".

I tried to print a test file, and got an error message telling me
that my security settings have deactivated the macros.....

I did that because of a hassle at every boot up with error messages
stating that macros were enabled and etc.

Is this possibly the capability that you had in your prior program?
If so, go to help and find out how to activate your macros.

It isn't native to Office though.
