I'm running Windows 98, second edition..accidentally right
clicked on my Word program from the start menu, and pulled
it to the desk top. How do I get it back where it belongs?

Click and drag the icon back to the start button and
release it when it gets back to where you pulled it.

Jesse, thank you so much for the help. I knew it was so
easy that it made it hard to remember. Thank you, the
issue is resolved.

Carmen,

There may be a more elegant way to do this, but this will
work for you: Find the Word icon on your desktop, left-
click and hold (it will move now). Move it over to your
Start menu and let go. It is now on top of your Start
menu, above Programs. Grab it again, and expand Programs
just as you would normally, but instead drag your mouse
over to your program list and then let go. Your Word icon
should be back on the Program list exactly where you let
it go. Does this work?
