Word02 : Hyperlinks to files get corrupted / changed overtime with the
"\Application Data\Microsoft \ " characters chain !!
to related documents.
In particular I have a relatively large "navigator" Word file full of
hyperlinks ( which is much more useful than Windows Explorer
( because :1/ I can annotate the hyperlinks within Word with comments
specifying the target file content
2/ I can duplicate an hyperlink to 2 theme sections when it relates to 2
different themes (which you can't with Windows Explorer ) , i.e. have a
crossing branches tree organisation ) )
Hyperlinks to files (e.g. file:///C:\Documents and
Settings\[username]\FolderX\SubfolderY\Filewhatever.doc ) are changed
overtime to due to insertions in the pathway of the character chain "
Application Data\Microsoft\Word\ " !!
So I end up with ineffective corrupt hyperlinks to pathways with multiple
insertions like :
file:///C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\\Application Data\Microsoft
\Application Data\Microsoft \Application Data\Microsoft\Word
\FolderX\SubfolderY\Filewhatever.doc
this is a real pain when you count on your hyperlinks to speed up
navigation between related files in your PC !!
… and you end up editing manually your hyperlinks back to the initial
pathways over and over again … and they get corrupted over time.
This phenomenon seems more pervasive with large Word documents (> 100 pages
?) .
1 > Could anyone help me please ?!
(and why MS Assistance pages restrict hyperlinks to > Word and Web> section
? whereashyperlinks are very useful to navigate across related documents
(much faster than Win Explorer) … when they don't get corrupted )
2 > Is this bug exists in Word03 ?
Thanks in advance !
"\Application Data\Microsoft \ " characters chain !!
I use lots of hyperlinks across my MS Office files to speed up navigationContext :
to related documents.

( because :1/ I can annotate the hyperlinks within Word with comments

I get a Big/Bug problem ! :
