word03... WTF?

Greetings all....

It seems to me that word03 has got to be a joke. Did somebody at MS burn the
april fools version onto the CDs? Yikes.... i can't even create a bulleted
list without have to hit ctrl-z to make the bullet "fix itself". Then I've
seen it lose ALL of it's formatting in a file for no apparent reason. Even
the TOC blew up! Has anyone seen anything odd like that? Can it be fixed?
(hopefully without uninstalling it and installing word2k)

Btw, it was a doc created and only edited in word03 under XP.

well it gets even better..... now it has bullets completely messed up. it
won't get the indentation right, and it will try to bullet the entire doc!

Turn off "automatically update" in your style definitions. See

I would not recommend using either the numbering or bullet buttons on the
standard toolbar: this is a recipe for disaster. Instead, use one of the
List Styles or create your own Bullet or Numbering Style.
