word11.adm file is not in a valid format

I am having trouble with the word11.adm Administrative
Template from the Office 2003 Resource Kit.

My Office 2003 settings fail to apply unless I remove
this adm file. When I use Group Policy Modelling to check
resultant policies, I get the following error under
the 'Adminstrative Templates' section where the Office
2003 settings should be:

An error has occurred while collecting data for
Administrative Templates.

The following errors were encountered:

The .adm
file "\\server.microsoft.com\SysVol\microsoft.com\Policies
\{88548CAC-09E5-45D9-98FB-49030D2AB8FD}\adm\WORD11.ADM" is
not in a valid format and must be replaced. Details: A
string is expected at line 818.

A colleague who works for another company is also having
the same problem, so I was wondering if there is a
problem with the file itself? Has anyone else got their
Word 2003 settings to apply from this .adm file?

Any assistance much appreciated :)

Hi Kathy,

The .adm file was updated for the release edition
of Office 2003 along with the ORK 2003 tools.
Are you using production tools and Office 2003 editions
(i.e. are there any beta Office 2003 bits involved)?

Hi Bob,

No beta bits involved, all components are the full release. It's on a test
network, where everything was built from scratch using release versions of
Windows and Office 2003. I downloaded the Office 2003 .adm files from the
Office Resource Kit on www.microsoft.com/office/ork about a week ago.

If I remove the word .adm file, my other settings apply fine. Any ideas?
Thanks very much,
Kathy

I am receiving the same problem. I would like to know if there is a
way to properly use the word.adm template.

Thanks
