Word2000 and screen resolution

When I open Word2000 the screeen resolution changes to
600x800. (Things get really, really, BIG)

I can't find any setting that makes it do this or can
make it stop doing it.

To use Word, I have to open it, let it do it's weird
thing, then go to the control panel and change the screen
res. back to what I want (1280x1020).

After that it seems to operate normally.

I have a bad habit of typing too fast and occasionally
hitting CTRL when I want 'shift'. Did I accidentally
change something? I've looked everywhere I can think of
and I can't figure out what it might be.

Did you check for a macro or add-in?
Surely it does not happen if Word is started with /a switch? Smth like
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" /a
